HOUSTON, TX - October 22, 2007 — A Houston CD/DVD duplication company is challenging the competition with an ambitious next-day service “that turns out a 1,000 picture-perfect CD/DVDs in 24 hours time,” says Stephanie Robertson, co-owner and vice president of Disc Inc.

The Houston-based CD/DVD duplication company is a pioneer in the industry, says Robertson.

“We maintain the latest technology,” she says. “Our research shows that we’re the first company in the Houston-area capable of duplicating CD/DVDs overnight on such a grand scale. We’ve made an enormous investment in additional duplication equipment,” says Robertson. “Now we have twice the CD/DVD duplicating capabilities.”

The company owner says it was this sort of growth spurred the company’s 2006 relocation to larger quarters in a Houston office park near Washington and I-10, says Robertson. “We work with a team approach and we focus on quality customer service,” she says. “People say it all the time,” says Robertson, “but in our case it’s true – our technology is state-of-the-art.”

For four years running, the Houston CD/DVD duplication company has earned three different Houston Business Journal awards: The Fast Tech 50, the Houston Small Business 100, and the Fastest Growing Woman-Owned Business, and for the first time, Inc. 5000 recognized Disc Inc. as one of the fastest-growing private companies in America.

Robertson says digital thermal technology – the high-tech process that produces CD-DVDs – is dramatically changing the CD/DVD duplication industry.

Why would a business need 1,000 CDs and DVDs?

“More and more, smart companies are relying on CDs/DVDs as the new communication,” says Robertson. “When it’s benefit enrollment time, there’s no need to assemble, collate and distribute bulky envelopes filled with paper. All that info can now fit handily on a single CD/DVD. The employee just pops it into a pocket or purse and they’re good to go,” she says. “It’s convenient, and much cheaper – not to speak of eco-friendly.”

“Last week,” says Robertson, “we duplicated 1,000 CDs/DVDs for a big Houston-based oil company. They wanted every employee in the organization to see and hear the CEO’s message announcing a surprise merger. And yesterday,” Robertson says, “we got an urgent call from a company requesting 1,000 additional DVDs for a product roll-out,” states Robertson. “They needed them the next day. The company sales manager said he couldn’t get that kind of on-the-dime turnaround from any other Houston duplication company.”

Robertson said the Disc Inc. CD/DVD duplication does not involve the use of labels or stickers. “We print directly to the disc, combining heat and pressure to seal the pigment.”

“Our discs feature graphics that resemble the color, clarity and design found on CD/DVDs from major recording artists,” says Robertson. “The process is called digital thermal printing.  Discs are delivered waterproof and scratch-proof. They have the look of glossy magazine photographs.”

Robertson says Disc Inc. has evolved from a small Houston-based OCR scanning and conversion company to a robust organization that now focuses on hard drive recovery and CD/DVD duplication and replication services. “Our customers know they can rely on us for large quantity CD/DVD duplication services on a fast turnaround.”
